FAQs

How do I schedule a therapy session?
I can be reached at (410) 800-4237. If there is no answer, please leave a message and someone will return your call ASAP.
What can I expect during the first appointment?
The first session we’ll talk about why you’ve decided to seek therapy or assessment/testing. I will start to understand your current concerns and we’ll establish some goals. I’ll ask questions to clarify your current situation and your history. This is also an opportunity to see if we’ll be a good fit to work together. My role as your therapist is to provide you with active listening and non-judgemental feedback. The first appointment will also help clarify which services are best suited for your needs. I’ll take into consideration your concerns, your child’s age, and to what extent further diagnostic evaluations are required. This session lasts about 80 minutes.

How frequent are therapy sessions?
Frequency will vary from each person. I see most of my clients once a week; some clients come more frequently in certain circumstances. Some clients, once they have begun to meet his/her/their therapy goals, may reduce the frequency to every other week, or once a month.
How long does each session last?
Appointments usually last 50 minutes, except for the initial office visit which lasts 80 minutes.

Do you accept insurance?
I’m not a participating provider with any insurance company. Many clients attempt to get reimbursed through their insurance company with out-of-network benefits. I will write treatment plans by request.
Are my sessions confidential?
Our sessions are completely confidential and by law, I keep the content of our sessions private. If your child is under 18, you are the holder of the privileged information. However, I request that I keep the conversations between your child and myself private. You’ll be apprised of any pertinent information that comes up.
