PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT

Psychological assessment, also known as psychoeducational or neuropsychological assessment/evaluation, is a powerful diagnostic strategy to help answer questions about the way a child learns. Assessment can reveal developmental delays, specific learning difficulties, attention problems and/or giftedness in a student’s profile.

Dr. Mosk’s assessment reports are designed to answer specific questions and to help the student, parents, and teachers understand the student’s specific learning profile while designing help specific to his or her needs. Dr. Mosk will coordinate with the student’s school and other health professionals in order for families to get the best care possible for their child.

Dr. Mosk has successfully diagnosed and provided recommendations for subtle and complex learning and attention problems that can interfere with optimal success at school. She has written over 350 testing reports with useful relevance in local public and private schools. Additionally, she has helped many college students attain accommodations for their learning challenges.

Reasons for assessment may include:

 Rule out ADHD

 Suspected Learning Disabilities

 Executive Functioning (Learning Behavior) Challenges

 Preschool Developmental Evaluations

 Giftedness Evaluations

College Evaluations (needed for accommodations, standardized testing, and college boards)

 Developmental/School Readiness Evaluations

PSYCHOTHERAPY

Dr. Mosk uses a comprehensive approach to psychotherapy. First, her goal is to establish a positive, functional relationship with her clients and help them and their families gain a good understanding of the problems that are occurring (approximately four sessions). Second, she uses talk therapy, cognitive training, and behavior change to address the issue. This 3-pronged approach provides multidirectional support for positive change (approximately 12 sessions).

 Behavior Problems
